Since its original design by Willie Davis in 1891, updates by Charles B. Macdonald, Seth Raynor, Howard C. Toomey and William S. Flynn have transformed a treeless, sandy landscape into a world-class golf course. Described as “ruthless” and “perfect”, and “the ultimate test of U.S. Championship golf,” Shinnecock Hills has garnered multiple honors and hosted U.S. Open competitions in 1896, 1986, 1994, and 2004. In 2018, the U.S. Open will again be held at this historic course.
